The single-family home permits in Prescott and Prescott Valley for August 2019 were above the August 2018 numbers, according to a report released by Yavapai County Contractors Association.

This past month had 50 permits for Prescott Valley with a valuation of nearly 14 million dollars and an average price of $278,000.

Prescott, meanwhile, had 38 permits with a valuation above 11.6 million dollars and an average price of $305,266.

It’s just the second time this year in Prescott Valley and the fourth time in Prescott that the 2019 numbers surpassed the 2018 marks.

Through eight months of 2019, the average price for a home in Prescott and Prescott Valley is lower than 2018.

The average price for a home in Prescott Valley in 2018 was nearly $272,000. That number stands at just about $268,000 so far this year.

In Prescott, last year’s average home price was around $337,000. In 2019, the average price for a home in Prescott is just above $330,000.

Meanwhile, the report stated single-family home permits were down from the August 2018 numbers for unincorporated Yavapai County surrounding Prescott, the rest of unincorporated area in Yavapai County and Chino Valley.

The price for a home throughout the area of unincorporated Yavapai County is up, however, as both have risen by $50,000 so far in 2019 from the 2018 average price.

Chino Valley, that had five permits this month with a valuation of more than $692,000 and an average price a bit more than $132,500, is just under $10,000 lower for an average home price in 2019 when compared to 2018.
