There are tons of options within Prescott's trail system, which features both urban and rural hiking trails. In fact, the Mile High trail system contains about 100 miles of trails.
A lot of people don't know that some of the trails are built over the former Santa Fe railroad, for example the Peavine trail, which runs from Prescott out towards Paulden. You can still see pieces of the railroad off to the side at those trails.

My favorite part about the Prescott trails system is that there are a lot of areas that actually traverse through neighborhoods. It is really cool to be out in nature, but with an urban feel. A great example of this is The Greenways Trails which run along Granite and Miller Creeks through downtown Prescott. I would really recommend this short hike to visitors and locals, as it is SUPER EASY to walk.
Today’s picture comes from the Iron King Trail behind the Jasper Subdivision, a free trail the whole family can enjoy!
